The Northumbria is located to the East of Newcastle upon Tyne just off the main coastal road (Promenade) of Whitley Bay and is easily reached from the A1 - A19 - A1058 by following signs for Whitley Bay and Tynemouth.

Whitley Bay is linked by the Tyneside Metro rail system directly to Newcastle Central Station and to Newcastle International Airport.

Travellers arriving by ferry from Norway, Sweden, Amsterdam and Hamburg can easily connect with local taxi and bus services for a short ride to the guest house.
